Introduction & Summary
The fields of education, child development, and non-profits are in need of new professionals to fill open positions in organizations now and the expected increase in demand in the near future. Supporting upcoming professionals in these three fields is a valuable investment for educational institutions and community based organizations. In fall 2022, we kicked off our Leaders of the Future program to prioritize our hiring practices around individuals looking to pursue careers in these three fields and support them in the pursuit.
As we explored support for young college professionals, we noticed that two of our standing programs extend our impact in our target fields of education, child development, and non-profit administration. Our Junior Rec Leader Program, for enrolled 4th and 5th graders, and our volunteer/internship partnerships with local high schools provide hands-on opportunities in the areas of education and child development. By including these standing programs in Leaders of the Future, we extend our impact across three age groups, building possible pathways for continued interest in education, child development, and non-profit work.
