Mariposa Kids proudly introduces our Children & Family Program, thoughtfully designed activities for children ages 2-5 and their parents/caregivers. This free program responds to our community's expressed need for quality early childhood engagement opportunities in a supportive, enriching environment.
Program Overview
Our Children & Family Program offers structured activities in a warm, welcoming atmosphere where families connect, children explore, and communities strengthen. Each session provides a balance of guided learning and free play, nurturing both developmental milestones and social bonds. Parents/caregivers must stay in the clubhouse the entire session. This is not a childcare option.
For children ages 2-5:
Spring 2025 Schedule Sessions run Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at our James Rolph Jr. Park Clubhouse in the mornings with activities including:

With our Children & Family Program, we extend our commitment to younger children and their families, creating continuity of care and support throughout childhood. - Cognitive & Emotional Development Movement & Physical Activity through dance and yoga
- Interactive Morning Circles with songs and community building
- Parent-Led Activities including reading circles and cultural sharing
- Specialized Learning featuring baby ASL and age-appropriate skill building
- 9:45-10:00 AM: Family Check-In & Welcome
- 10:00 AM: Morning Circle (introductions and songs)
- 10:15-10:30 AM: Guided Activity (cognitive/emotional or physical)
- 10:35-10:45 AM: Free Play & Story Time
- 10:45-11:00 AM: Closing Circle with feedback and community sharing
Coming Fall 2025: Bernal Heights Clubhouse Drop-In
We're excited to announce our new Drop-In Program launching this fall at our Bernal Clubhouse location! This flexible option allows families with children under 5 to:
- Access a dedicated play space in a community setting
- Connect with other neighborhood families
- Participate in unstructured play with quality toys and materials
- Benefit from the support of experienced early childhood staff
- Join special programming on select days
- No registration required—simply drop in during operating hours and become part of our growing community of families. Parents/caregivers must stay in the clubhouse at all times. This is not a childcare option.
- Children too young to walk must be held by parent/caregiver or in a stroller.
Program Vision & Outcomes
- Create stronger connections between parents/guardians and their children
- Provide families with tools to support early childhood development
- Foster a supportive community network for parents/caregivers
- Offer a "third space" where families feel welcome and valued
- Broaden our neighborhood presence by welcoming new families

- We do not provide diapers and staff do not change children's diapers. Parents/caregivers are responsible for this.
- Programming is free for all with suggested donations for those who are able to support the space and activities with a contribution.
- No registration required—simply drop in during operating hours and become part of our growing community of families. Capacity is limited and is first come, first served.
- Parents/caregivers must remain on site at all time. This is not a childcare option.
- While open to children under the age of 2, our program is recommended for engagement of children over the age of 2 and not yet in elementary school. Families with multiple children may attend if space allows with children not yet able to walk be in the company of their parent/caregiver at all times.
